Cedarwood Chinese essential oil is similar in scent and color to Cedarwood Atlas. It is steam distilled from the wood, stumps, wood chips or sawdust of the Cedarwood tree.

Botanical (Latin) Name: Cedrus deodorata

Country of Origin: China

Method of Extraction: Steam distillation of the wood and sawdust

Aromatic Qualities: Has a clean balsamic, woody odour.

Possible Uses: beneficial for treating coughs, bronchitis, catarrh and other respiratory conditions, and it is used to treat muscular aches and pains, including arthritis and rheumatism. It has a reputation as being helpful for treating acne, dandruff, dermatitis and eczema, urinary tract infections, and nervous tension and stress related conditions. It is nontoxic, nonirritant, and non-sensitising. Avoid during pregnancy.

Precautions: Can cause skin irritations.
