We all know oil and water do not mix. So, you should always apply your water-based products before your oil-based products because the oils may prevent your water-based products from penetrating your skin. A general rule-of-thumb is to let each product absorb before applying the next one.
Different products have different consistency. Start with your thinner products such as toners and water-based serums and end with oil-based serums and moisturizers.
Always apply acidic products first. For example, Vitamin C and Hyaluronic Acid...this is a water-based product with a low pH and should be applied right after your toner.

The best way to apply a serum is to first mist your skin with your toner, then apply your serum. The water in the toner will aid in carrying the oils deeper into your skin.
